The development has ensued after NAM released fixtures two weeks after BDNL’s OG Issa Southern Region Netball league.

BDNL Chairperson Khungikile Matiya has accused the national netball governing body of failing to plan.

“If they had consulted us we could not have been in this situation. They just do things without planning and each time they get away it,” she said.

Matiya feared Nam’s way of doing things was not ideal for current and prospective sponsors.”

“Nam should learn to respect others including the OG Issa League. This is the league which keeps  most Malawi Queens players fit because it is played for a long period,” she said.

The outspoken Matiya insisted that they not  going to give in to NAM because they don’t want to be inconvenienced.

“We always plan in advance but NAM also comes up with its unplanned activities and we always give in. If they had been with us during rainy season they wthey would have understood what we are talking about,” Matiya said.

NAM General Secretary Carol Bapu however declined to comment on the development.

Complex Tigresses coach Charles Mhango said it was unfortunate that the situation was affected the clubs preparations for the two competitions.

“These are two different competitions which requires  a different approach,” Mhango said.

The confusion resulted after Gotv Netball Challenge indicated that the tournament should be concluded within the month.
