Gov’t pays tribute to Senior Chief Mwaulambya

Government says the death of Senior Chief Mwaulambya has robbed it a son who was development conscious.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. James Munthali, who spoke on behalf of the Vice President Khumbo Kachali who was present, said this in Lilongwe before seeing off the body of late Senior Chief Mwaulambya of Chitipa.

“Senior Chief Mwaulambya was a chief who was there to build not to destruct, furthermore, he was also peace keeping and developmental conscious,” Dr. Munthali said.

Born Redson Jealous Nyondo, Senior Chief Mwaulambya died during wee hours of Wednesday at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).

He was born on 16 September, 1936 and is survived by four wives, 44 children and over 40 grand children.

The body of the late Senior Chief has since been taken to his home village Chinamati, Traditional Authority Mwaulambya in Chitipa where he will be laid to rest on Saturday.
