This happens when pedophiles have sex with young girls and they get pregnant before their bodies are ready to carry anddeliver a child. It is not a disease it is a medical condition that can only be corrected through surgery. I’m glad somebody is finally doing something about this condition. Malawian men need to stop marrying children and be with people who are adults. If the men who do have relationships with children were overseas they would be arrested and thrown in jail Unfortunately our country has not caught up to the modern world in terms of prosecuting these criminals.

Another very good article on health. Although i am not a woman, i know how this condition can change a woman’s self esteem. The problem which we have here is that most rural women will connect this condition to witchcraft as the article rightly puts it. As a country i think we can do something by way of educating married people on this condition so that they can seek medical attention instead of going to witch doctors who may not even be able to help them. There should be a campaign like the one on cervical cancer screening so that people are aware of obstetric fistula.
