Hip-hop artist Gwamba cuts new single, features Bucci

One of Malawi‘s celebrated rappers, Gwamba, is out of the studio with a new song titled ‘Ndiyima Pachulu’, which he features new kid on the block, R&B singer Bucci.

The latest song, titled ‘Ndiyima Pachulu’, will be hitting the airwaves Friday 10 January, 2014 to be premiered by MBC Radio 2 FM in its Breakfast Show.

The Lilongwe-based rapper, signed to Prime Time Media, continues to bring a new twist to his style as he has this time taken a rather singular approach rapping on a Pasada beat with Bucci singing on the hook.

“It’s a new approach where am trying to give my fans more reasons to like style of music,” Gwamba, real name Duncan Zgambo, told Nyasa Times.

The new release is Gwamba’s second single from his debut album ‘Kudutsa Pakhoma’, which according to his management company will be coming out within the first quarter of 2014.

‘Ndiyima Pachulu’ was produced and recoded by renowned urban music producer Percy Manyozo aka Pro Pee at his Pro Pee Studios in Chirimba, Blantyre and was mastered by Prime Time Media CEO Wado aka Edward Kankhomba.

Speaking on Gwamba’s upcoming album, Kankhomba said: “We have assembled a team of producers from both Lilongwe and Blantyre to work on this project.”

In October last year, Gwamba released ‘Bola Kusache’ (featuring label-mate Nesnes), the first song off the album, which is also the rapper’s most downloaded songs to date and is still getting good airplay and reviews on the local scene.

The rapper hopes that he releases good songs in the year 2014 as he is quoted to have written on his Facebook page recently: “I pray to God that I release better songs this year”.

‘Kudutsa Pakhoma’ is Gwamba’s second solo project, following his 2012 mixtape ‘Ghetto Attitude’.

The rapper, who does most of his songs in vernacular Chichewa started off his career with hip-hop group Pittie Boys in 2007 and has worked with most urban musicians in Malawi, among them Young Kay, BarryOne, Third Eye, Piksy, Blakjak and Phyzix.
