Hold on to the anchor

Many times when problems come we are so shaken that we are not even able to pray or seek God’s opinion in that situation because we become so confused. This is not the time to be shaken, but to run to the Anchor, who will still hold no matter how much wind may blow, and there is guaranteed safety. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10).jesus bible

Many people have given up too soon just because things looked as if they were getting worse and thought there is no way out. This is what the devil uses to make children of God give up, but I have never seen God failing for those that continue to seek Him despite the situation.

The Bible has a very good example of how the enemy tries to make us give up at the edge of the miracle and stop looking on Him. Look how the Children of Israel’s work load was increased when God was just about to deliver them.

It is also the same thing with us because we are still facing the enemy that we can never defeat with our own human capabilities. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The good news is that when Jesus Christ died on the Cross, He defeated all these powers, that is why the Bible tells us that at the name of Jesus, all knees should bow both in Heaven and on earth. If all the powers are to bow at the mention of His name then it means that He is the one we should hold on to because holding on to him guarantees protection, peace, prosperity, and above all else salvation.

When the waves beat and the wind blows, as long as the anchor holds the ship is safe. Trials will come along your way but you will be fine and nothing will harm you because you will come out of the trials better as your faith will be increased.

Remember the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego’s supernatural deliverance in the fiery furnace. It was all because they knew to stick to their God even in a situation they knew they would have been killed but they came out without being burned because they knew to hold on to their God.

In every situation that comes along the way, God intends to deliver us if we completely hold on to Him, and not looking to anything else. Our God is indeed an Anchor but we need to be in Him so that He can fight our battles. Roots are considered to be the anchor to the tree because they are part of that tree. Roots cannot be an anchor to another tree. It is the same thing here that we have to be in Him then He will be our Anchor.

No matter how bad the storm may look, the Anchor will still hold.
