‘I took time to perfect my craft’ says Tay Grin, announces new single
Malawi’s high-flying rapper, Tay Grin, says his fans should expect nothing but great work from him as he plans to drop a new single from his comeback album this summer.
The rapper, popularly known as Nyau King, announced on Monday that he will soon be releasing a new song called The Beach which features Malawi’s The Very Best duo and Nigeria’s Seye.
“Am excited with this project. I took my time to perfect my craft and put out great material,” Tay Grin is quoted as saying in a statement by Pencils PR, his press representatives.
The statement says after several years of silence, Tay Grin is back to make history with the release of his new music from his third untitled album.
In the new song, as indicated by the statement, Tay Grin continues with the fusion of culture and modern hip-hop in his latest song, which talks about the beauty of Malawi and personifies the various aspects of Malawian culture.
“It’s fun, cheerful and a summer anthem for 2014 and beyond. I can’t wait for people to hear this song and watch the video and take this journey with me as I release single after single leading to the album launch,” Tay Grin is further quoted as saying.
The Beach has been produced by Johan Hugo of The Very Best, a duo that comprise the Swedish Hugo and Malawian Esau Mwamwaya.
Meanwhile, Tay Grin, who on tour to the UK, has saluted the people of Manchester for the love they showed him during his performance at the ‘Malawi Summer Jam’ last Saturday.
The Saturday performance in Manchester was the second after his first show at the Glasgow Commonwealth Festival in Scotland a week ago.
Tay Grin is expected to have his final performance this coming Saturday, 9 August, in Nottingham, before his return to Malawi, where he might be announcing the release date for his new single.
Among the notable faces that attended the Manchester show was Pauline Long, host of the Pauline Long Show, a premier global TV talk show on SKY Channel 182. Tay Grin is expected to be featured live on the TV show today (Wednesday) from 1300hrs to 1400hrs.
