In the name of Jesus

The name Jesus means “Savior” because He saves us from our sins. We are saved from the guilt of sin by what a sinless man did, dying on the cross to cleanse us from the guilt of sin. Paul said in Romans 6:4 that we are therefore buried with Him by baptism into death.prayer

Not only did we die with Him, but we were buried with him as well, which means that all the sin and transgression of the past were buried; when they put him in the tomb, they put all our sins into that tomb as well: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father, even so we also should walk in newness of life, meaning that His resurrection was our resurrection to newness of life from the moment we said yes to Jesus.

The bible tells us in John 14:13 that; “whatsoever you shall ask in my Name that will I do”. As Christians we are given the power to use the Name of Jesus regardless of the type of situation we are facing. “At the Name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:10).

Acts 3 talks about Peter healing a lame man from his mother’s womb that sat at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple to ask alms of them who entered into the Temple. We see that peter spoke with authority; “In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk”. The bible tells us that immediately, his feet and ankle bones received strength. Peter showed his strong consciousness that the secret of their authority was not in magic, but in their communion with Jesus. “Why do you marvel at this? Or why look you as so earnestly on us, as though by our power we have made this man to walk? …the God of our fathers has glorified His son Jesus.” This is only valid in relationship to the son of Man; the name that breaks the power of demons and that reconciles us to God was given to the apostles, the crippled man and all of us.

When Jesus had sent the Seventy, they returned again with joy, saying Lord, “Even the devils are subject unto us through Your Name”. It is good to know that only one Name subjects a demon to tremble, drive out evil spirits, and heal every disease and sickness; that is the Name of Jesus if spoken by faith. The power that was given to them was not a magical power, but an ability that requires the foundation of faith in Jesus Christ and what He has already done for us on the cross of Calvary.

It is therefore very important as children of God to be in communion with Christ and through His Name, we will see great and mighty things as we realize that every one of us has this power, it was not selected to few individuals because Jesus died for all of us.

Oh what a serious and controversial topic!
We have been deeply programmed by religious beliefs. These beliefs have become part of ourselves. We identify ourselves with these beliefs. All beliefs are the making of Human Mind; that is why religions have different beliefs or doctrines. All sacred books, including the Bible, are full of allegories that need ESOTERIC knowledge to understand the intended meaning of scriptures. Unfortunately, most of the interpretation of sacred books is through EXOTERIC knowledge ( understood by general public)- the knowledge through which we learn the external world. There is need to understand Ancient wisdom that formed the basis of writing sacred books. If you esoterically read some sacred books of Ancient world like Egypt, Babylon, Chaldea Greece, Syria, India and Mexico you will find close similarities in sacred stories and that there is very little original in both Old and New Testaments.
Misunderstanding of scriptures caused and is still causing splits in religious systems. Reading Church history we note that there was a split of the Christian Church in the beginning of 4th century giving rise to the concept of Heresy and resulted to war between Christian believers., Remember the 325 AD Church Synod summoned by Constantine to debate and decide the Divinity of Jesus ; that is whether he was the son of God or God? How can he be the Son of God and at the same time God? This Conflict started with Arius opposing his Bishop of Alexandria in Egypt, The Trinity was also discussed in the fourth century. Similar Concepts are found in other old nations’s sacred books before Jesus time and New Testament.
It is a fact that the Bible has been revised, edited and translated so many times losing the flavor of original meaning. I doubt that those involved in editing, reviewing and translating the Bible were also inspired like the so claimed original Bible stories writers.
Religious argument will not take us anywhere. It is time that we get out of Time-Mind behaviors and get connected to our inner Being who lives in the eternal NOW. If we live in the eternal NOW, we will be free. There is Kingdom of God in the NOW.
ESOTERICISM deals with inner power; it was a prerogative knowledge for Priests and Kings and not for the masses in the Ancient World. Allegoric nature of scripture makes difficult to have common religious beliefs. I believe religion is a personal relationship with your inner power, whether it is God, Allah, Source, Unified Field, Supper conscious Mind. It is a direct relationship that does not need intermediate person like in Human culture for Governance. Each one of us is unique, special and great. There are no classes/hierarchies in relationship with God/Source/Allah/ Universal Intelligence etc.
Human beings are scared, sad and disappointed in this world because they live from imaginary pictures of themselves instead of living from their essentials selves. These imaginary pictures of ourselves are all sorts of external labels that include: Husband, Wife, Widow, Widower, Kings, Priests, Pastors, Bishops, Sheiks, Presidents, all Job Titles, Christians, Muslims, Tribes, Africans, Personal and surnames etc. When we identify with these labels, we automatically behave according to these labels. We are unconsciously slaves to these labels. Any threats to our labels cause discomfort and usually lead to conflicts and wars. Do we see religious system and any other man made system creating these labels? This is really artificial Life that has been created by Human Mind,

The real article brother that comes with wisdom from above and that’s not you. I challenge that it’s only by this name that one recieves. And this is the only language for the believers and not all despite being a chance to all. I challenge by the very powerful name of Jesus that who ever doesn’t believe in this name can come forward and see how powerful is the name. I warn every tongue against the name Jesus, It is the name with creation power and it is the name that created ,creates and will ever create. Never create a curse in your life through this name

If only you had prayed in the name of God, the God who created Jesus, the God whom Jesus prayed to when he taught you how to pray in the Lord’s Prayer , then salvation would surely be yours. Instead you have invented this praying “in the name of Jesus”. May God guide you all.

    1. special advisor says:

Peter, you may be right when you allege that some people that call themselves Christians, in fact, fall short. That happens in every faith and religion. But that in itself does not render invakid the fundamentals of salvation through Jesus Christ. By focussing on the negative, you only end up antagonizing yourself with your own conscience. That fight within you will make you a man that lacks peace wuthin, bent in and continuously struggling with self destruction. As I have suggested before, all our faiths/religions were taught to us, whether mbona or Islam or Buddhism or Christianity. Each might have a degree of inaccuracy. Others might be more erroneous. But God’s intent is to reveal himself to his people so that they don’t perish out of ignorance. But in the times when ignorance reigned, God overlooked some of the “ignorant sinner” lifestyle. But now he commands all men to repent from seen. He has provisioned enough grace that hasappeared to all men. It teaches them to say no to ungodliness. Man’s heart is restless until it finds its rest in Jesus Christ. Free yourself from restlessness!

There is nothing more powerful than Him Alone, the creator! Amen

  19. ine says:

Now, I know that most Christians believe that Christ died for our sins, but I had a person who says that he is a Christian explain it to me different. He feels that many Christians have been misled for different reasons, one being they have strayed from the Authorized King James Version of the bible. Anyway, he claims that when the bible speaks of Jesus ‘dying for our sins’, it does not mean that he ‘died for our sins’. Ok let me explain. He claims that the word ‘for’ has about 14 different meanings. And in this case, the word for means because. So this is his reasoning. He feels that there is no way that Christ died to take away our sins, otherwise the world would be different.

The Bible (King James) is translated correctly, that Christ died “for” our sins. If Jesus only died “because” of our sins, then that would not necessarily do us any good. If Jesus would have been murdered, then that would have been dying “because” of man’s sin (because sinful man would have killed Him), but then Jesus would not have been giving His life “for” man’s sin. But Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR THE SHEEP. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I LAY DOWN MY LIFE, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I LAY IT DOWN OF MYSELF. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (John 10:14-18). Jesus was not just dying “because” of man’s sin, but clearly “for” man’s sin.

You could die in a car accident “because” of someone else’s sin (they ran a stop sign….., they were drinking and driving…, they fell asleep at the wheel…, etc). Does that mean that your death would have helped them in the sin that they committed? Not at all. You would be dead, but your death would not help them and their sin in the least. The Bible (King James) is correct in its translation, Jesus died “for” our sins. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (I Corinthians 15:3,4).

A gift will only benefit you, if you will receive it. You can be offered a check for a million dollars, but it will only do you good if you sign it and cash it. Jesus died for your sins, but it will never do you any good, unless you receive Him as your Savior. Will you receive Him now? “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).

Yes indeed. In other words Jesus is like a handsome Batchelor going around looking for a spinster to marry for eternity. And we are spinsters hopping for marriage. We can either choose to marry him or not. If we marry him he promises eternal love and life but he wants our obedience. Put differently God wanted the world destroyed but Jesus begged on our behalf and said among the rotten seeds are some I could use in the next world. Please allow me to go and gather those. The others we can burn at the end. Apparently this subject is not to debate. The sense knowledge does not take centre stage here. You have a marriage relationship with Jesus and are called christian or you perish. In other words Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with Christ Jesus.

Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. …
