Inspired by Gospel Kazako and Prophet Bushiri: Zodiak’s Mayamiko Kambewa opens audiovisual studio to nature talent

Naliona Media, a brainchild of Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) reporter Mayamiko Kambewa on 24 January opened its doors in an effort to ease the hustle that musicians face in Dowa and nearby districts.

Located at Mponela, Naliona Media rolls out its operations with recording an album for Chisomo Mothers Choir of Ntchisi C.C.A.P.

“I have one thing that I want to achieve. I want to see musicians having high quality music. My studio has state of the art equipment with a very nice sound booth for voice recording.

“For so long I have seen that musicians in districts of Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu and some parts of Lilongwe were not provided with right services by producers from urban areas.

“Many of these producers do mobile studios. What they do is going right to where the choir operates where they don’t bring all the needed equipment such as the much needed sound booth. They use improper place to record voice which results into very poorly balanced music,” Kambewa highlighted.

Noting that artists from Mponela and surrounding areas lack direction, Kambewa said his establishment has brought solutions to the problem.

He explained, “Music in Mponela is growing only that musicians lack direction. We have some good musicians who really try to achieve something through music but only that they don’t know where to go with their talent.

“Naliona is here to give directions to such musicians, musicians who can show commitment and humble. Naliona Media shall work with every needy musician, and we promise fireworks until we achieve what we want.”

He then promised professionalism, saying; “As a reporter I will properly manage my studio since I have employed a certain producer to be working on audio production. I should indicate here that I already do video production, so I know what to or not to do.”

Inspired by two business people, namely Gospel Kazako and Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, Kabwewa said he believes in God and hard work.

“My Boss Mr Gospel Kazako is a man who doesn’t look back when doing things and he is straight forward when doing things, he gives me hope that things shall be better through working hard.

“Prophet Bushiri is a man who has done wonders beyond people’s imagination. Through his business mind and trust in God he has done things which some people just dream. Bushiri is a man who has proved that dreams can be fulfilled,” he stated.
