This is very sad and as a nation,we need to learn on how to do things. Its not wise to overreact when something has happened.Burning the vehicle can not solve the problem. The matter is in the hands of the Police. We also need to be very careful on the roads because we also contribute to these accidents as others have already said.We need not to sell our goods close to the roads for security purpose. Please drivers,be cautious when approaching market places along the roads.Let us unity as a nation inorder to reduce these accidents.

This is why most drivers amamusiya munthu osamutengera ku chipatala chifukwa cha usatana ngati umenewu. No one wakes up in the morning ndikupita panseu ndicholinga chokapanga ngozi. Nanunso a police mumangokhalira kulimbana ndi ma driver kuti mudyepo instead of nthawi zina kumapanga check conduct ya ma pedestrians. ZANDINYASA KWAMBIRI!!!!!!!

  12. Dikisan says:

Burning car is not a solution. Mwaonetsa kusazindikira kwanu. You do not solve a problem by creating another problem; Thus being inhumane. No wonder!

  13. Koyo Luni says:

It is only in Malawi where people sell their goods on the main roads especially on market days. Police are only busy penalizing drivers for lame issues without dealing with this problem. District, town and city councils, police and Ministry of transport should stop people for erecting hawkers or selling their goods on road pavements. This is the major source of accidents.

  14. nkhorokoro says:

Midyomba umbuli, accident is accident!!! Southerners please mobilise yourselves start going to school eeeish!!! Your jealousy towards the well to do will only kill you. Malawi is ranked the poorest because of midyombaz, lomwez and senaz. This country would have been a better place without these idiots.

  15. golingo says:

Balaka, Ulongwe umbuli too much southerners did u verify if it was the soldier who was in the wrong? Kodi midyombayi bwanji? Malawi is ranked the poorest now because of midyombas, senas and lomwes. Malawi would have been a better place without these idiotic tribes.

  18. Green beans says:

With this type of behavior it is no longer safe to stop at an accident . spot. Why should people always assume that the driver was in the wrong? I am a driver myself and when driving am often wondering as to whether pedestrians really mind about vehicular traffic.

  19. Yusuf says:

Ayao amasaka okha, kumanga okha and kuweluza okha popnada choopa coz khoti la ku Malawi kuno limakondera a chuma okhaokha>

    Sharia law (bravo fellow Mjombaz)

  20. samuyane says:

I think other soldiers wid the same behaviour of reckless driving have now get a lesson. they exalt themselves as most powerful, they never mind abt other road users. kip the fire burning blk guys. asamanjaire asilikaliwa

  21. Wayithayima Bangalala says:

    Sad…………

  22. ROAD USER says:

may the Boy’s soul rest in Peace,
and sorry to the driver for the incident, however I would like to be enlightened on how do Police come up with the offence of reckless driving when an incident like this happens? Is it a law that all drivers who happen to be involved in an accident which results in death of a person has to be arrested and charged for reckless driving ?I remember recently Speaker of Parliament also hit to death a cyclist but was not arrested WHY?

  23. The Partriot says:

Vuto ndi njala ndi kusaphunzira pa Malawi pano! Ambirinso amaotcha magalimoto sanayendetspo galimoto ndi kale lomwe! An accident is not always the driver fault and torching a car does not bring the victims life back. The police also seem to be afraid of people nowadays. They seem to be unable to secure life and property, which is tneir core duty! Kumangokhalira ziphuphu mumisewumu basi!!

  24. Mapwevupwevu says:

    Bad reporting!!!!

How did the accident happen? What car was it? If the police were overpowered how come the soldier is still in custody?

    Koma zikanakhala za Bushiri!!
