JB back from TB Joshua pilgrimage

Malawi President Joyce Banda on Tuesday returned from a private visit  and spiritual retreat  in Nigeria where she  went with her family and other top government officials at Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) for spiritual assistance.

Banda who looked well-energised on arrival at Kamuzu International Airport would not say much about her own tidings and what counsel she received from her “spiritual godfather.’

President Banda visits TB Joshua’a Church as how some Christians and Muslims make pilgrims to visit holy places like Jerusalem and Mecca.

The Malawi leader who is battling for election in May 20, 2014 said she visited the Scoan because she was a God-fearing leader.

During the service Banda attended at the Synagogue, Prophet TB Joshua in his sermon said the year 2014 will be like a bridge where many will fall off and some will cross it with ease.

He said it will be a very difficult year for the wicked but those who do good and serve Jesus will be fulfilled.

“There will be a lot of challenges for the mighty and powerful next year,” he said, adding that “2014 is a year of bridge. It’s a year of destiny”.

He said those involved in farming will have a great year even though money will be scarce and hardship will expand.

Joshua is known for his prophecies and miracle healings and has allegedly foretold some events like the death of  Banda’s predecessor Bingu wa Mutharika.

But critics say many of the “miracles” performed at the Synagogue could  be faked.

One of TB Joshua’s critic Sandy Simpson says  it’s imperative to test the spirits, judge and compare the doctrinal teachings and beliefs presented by Nigerian prophet with the word of God.

“On that basis alone you will discover that this man [TB Joshua] is teaching heresy — laying error alongside truth.  Christians should avoid any man who is using occult techniques in the name of Jesus Christ,” he argues.

But Banda  says she worship at Prophet TB Joshua’s temple as “a follower of God”.
