JB donates bicycles to governors of Malawi ruling People’s Party
Malawi President Joyce Banda on Wednesday donated 400 bicycles to members of her ruling People’s Party from southern region as one way of encouraging them and easing problems they are facing.
Describing them as hub of the party, Banda said the PP members have relentlessly worked for the party without expecting anything in return a thing she commended.
President Banda said she realizes that governors and governess are the ones that do all the work as they are the ones that work with the people on the ground.
“I will always respect you people, you are the ones that build a party in the areas and districts and I shall forever look after you,” said president Banda.
President Banda who said she has worked her way up from the district explained that there is need to look after and respect people who put in a lot of energy in building the party.
A governor from the southern district of Mulanje, Bright Sogola said since he entered politics he has never seen a President who cares for people like what JB is doing.
“We work day and night for politicians, but I tell you in the 15 years that I have been in politics, I have never seen a president who cares for the people and is willing to sit down with us and share ideas,” said the Mulanje south governor.
President Banda advised the PP members to embrace people that want to join the party.
She also reminded them that she is the president of the people and her fellow members should therefore ensure that food items that she is distributing reach everyone who is affected by hunger.
