Louisa Angellina Kabwila, a daughter of spokeswoman for Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Dr Jessie Kabwila, has engaged her fellow youth in a clean Lilongwe campaign.
The campaign is to make sure that Lilongwe is a beautiful and clean city.
Louisa Angellina said it is unfortunate that the city is dirty and has some eyesore places, pointing out that most Malawians are at risk of contracting water borne disease due to dirtiness of the city.
“This is our city we should not just wait for other people to clean the city, for us the youth we can do something,” said Angellina, who is currently studying International Relations in Kenya.
Ward Councillor for the area Mrs Zainab Omar commended Lousier Kabwila for the initiative.
Lilongwe City Mayor, Willy Chapondera, has since commended the youths who joined Louisa Angellina for cleaning Tsoka Market which was recently gutted by fire.
In her remarks, Jessie Kabwila who attended the sweeping exercise throughout the entire function commended her daughter for the passion of Lilongwe city.
Kabwila urged city council to do something in making sure that the city is clean all the time.
