Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Director of Women affairs, Patricia Kaliati on Sunday hurled ugly slurs at President Joyce Banda, describing her as a bad example of women leadership.
Kaliati attacked President Banda when she spoke at a news conference addressed by DPP leader Peter Mutharika in Lilongwe to fend off rumours of his ill-health.
She robustly denied reports that Mutharika is sick and linked the reports to President Banda.
“This was the case with president Bingu wa Mutharika and some forces came in, he suddenly died. Now, the same people are doing the same with our president, please leave him alone and let him win the elections with peace of mind,” she said.
Kaliati accused members of ruling People’s Party (PP) of jubilating over Mutharika’s supposed health problems, saying they should however watch the gauge on their dashboard.
“There is no good reason to suppose our president Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is sick,” said Kaliati.
She added: “Odwala ndi amene amapita kwa TB Joshua osati ku USA (the sick are the ones who visit Nigerian prophet TB Joshua for pilgrimage not those going on vacation in USA)”.
President Banda frequents TB Joshua’s synagogue in Lagos, Nigeria and her recent visit was late December for prayers.
Kaliati went further to say, the ones who are sick are those who uses some help when boarding a car – apparently insinuating at the Head of State.
She also blamed Banda that because of her bad leadership, a lot of women lost during primary elections from various parties.
“As of now, it is only the DPP which has a lot of women shadow parliamentarians with 43 in total. It is becasuse of the current poor leadership style of the country’s president that a lot of women were not voted for.
“People had a lot of expectations from the president as a woman, but with the ongoing food shortage, rising cost of living and people dying in the hospitas due to drug shortages, people have lost trust in women especially the clueless leader ,” she said.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
