Rumphi East Member of Parliament Kamlepo Kalua who is also opposition People’s Party (PP) third Vice President has been elected as Deputy Secretary General of African Public Accounts Committees of all African Parliaments in Africa (AFRIPAC).
AFROPAC is a parliamentary committee for all African parliaments and elected Kalua during a meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya.
MP who is also Vice Chairperson of the of the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee recently made headlines on the social media after he openly challenged President Peter Mutharika to release the names of Cabinet Ministers implicated in the MK236 billion cashgate scandal or resign as President.
He said the foreign forensic auditors who conducted the audit submitted the names and files of those implicated to the Anti-Corruption Bureau and National Audit Office for action.
According to Kalua, if Mutharika fails to arrest “the thieves in his cabinet”, he should resign as he is not in control of the state affairs.
But Mutharika rubbished Kalua’s claims, saying he could not sack his ministers as he did not have the names.
Mutharika recently challenged Kalua to name and shame the corrupt ministers.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
