Karonga United suspends two players for boozing spree
Rookies Karonga United will continue their TNM Super League campaign without two of their key players who have been suspended on disciplinary grounds.
Club Chairman Alufeyo Chipanga Banda confirmed the suspension of Pachalo Ngwira and Gerald Mwanza.
Alufeyo Chipanga said the two sneaked out of camp in Mzuzu ahead of their Calrsberg Cup tie against the soldiers and ended up going out drinking beer.
He however could not disclose the period of their suspension.
“The issue is in the hands of our disciplinary committee and the disciplinary hearing will take place once we return to our base” said Alufeyo Banda.
According to the Chairman, the chances of survival for the two at the club are minimal as the team cannot tolerate such kind of indiscipline.
Ngwira and Mwanza have been influential players who have scored a couple of important goals for the Super League rookies.
The two have since been sent back home awaiting the hearing.
Meanwhille, Alufeyo Banda has advised players to always maintain their discipline and to avoid boosting and regard themselves as bigger than their clubs that they can behave in anyway they wish.
