The security staff also want their General Manager Alex Shelland to deal with Doug McGibbon who is the top boss  accusing him of mistreating them.

“What is happening here is that our boss in the department McGibbon tends to fire workers without necessary reasons,” said one of the guards who spoke to Nyasa Times.

They disclosed that “McGibbon is doing that because he wants to recruit new employees as he is getting huge allowances after training them.”

Nyasa Times understands that for a training of one security guard in five days the trainer receives K500, 000.

However, the officials at Kayerekera have not commented on the matter.

Since the uranium mine was put under care and maintenance in 2014, the security department has been continuing with their work.

Despite government claims that the China National Nuclear Corporation only owns 25 percent to Kayerekera Uranium Mine, rumours have emerged that Paladin sold its 51 percent shares of the company to the Chinese firm.

If Kayerekera undertaking is already a disaster to environment and to the workers’ human conditions and economically, invaluable to the whole nation, how about the more complicated exploration of dirty oil from our life blood Lake Nyasa? Malawians, this is a vivid lesson to learn and Afterall, the overwhelming recipient of the revenues go to China as usual. This proves beyond doubts, that Chinese are in Africa to overwhelmingly exploit our potential resources for their own interests.Afterall, they careless for our people and care more to their people. You just keep on sleeping by the time you wake up,Malawi and Africa will remain barren fields like Sahara Desert.ENJOY!!!!
