Lawi is currently one of the country’s celebrated musicians. Just this month he was nominated for the All Africa Music Awards (Afrima).

Main organiser for the Mzuzu show Pastor Reuben Matundu said they were “delighted to bring Lawi to the Northern Region.”

Lawi has not performed in the north since the launch of his latest album in which The Whistling Song – for which he has been nominated for Afrima is.

“It will be wonderful. We have prepared well,” said Matundu. “We hope people in the North will celebrate Mother’s Day in style.

The show will start at 7:30 pm and according to Matundu, it has been organised to raise funds so that the Ministry in Mzuzu can purchase a minibus.

“We want to buy a minibus so that it can help us in reaching out to more people, and for charity work,” he said.

Tickets for the show are currently being sold with those of a table (10 spaces) going at K150 000. Couples will part ways with their K18 000 while singles will get entry into the show at only K10 000.

The tickets are being sold at Mzuzu Coffee Den Shop and Mimosa Hotel in the city.

Tell the organizers of the show to know what they are ralking…..Why do you say “people in the north” will celebrate while in actual sense the boy is performing in Mzuzu only? When he performs in LL do you say people in the central region? or people in the south when actually he is just performing at Robin’s Park in Blantyre? avoid generalistic mentalities……specificity is the word!!
