The Board chair Francis Dzimbiri said Kamuzu dams one and two at Malingunde are fast drying up.

“The situation is very unprecedented in the history of the board. The situation is very critical,” he said.

He said in the past years, the board used to release the water for residents during the dry season but this year the board released the water in April due to dry spells.

He therefore said residents in the Capital City to brace for dry taps in the coming months.

This statement comes at a time when Escom has also asked Malawians to brace for tough times ahead without electricity.
