Lions go top of Malawi TNM Super League
After a disappointing 2-1 loss to Mighty Wanderers on Saturday at the Balaka Stadium, Red Lions on Sunday vented their anger on struggling Epac F.C at Zomba Community Centre ground to go top of the TNM Super League table.
Two goals from Kumbukani Mwambene and Matthews Simbeye were enough to give the soldiers a sweet victory.
Red Lions now has 21 points one ahead of Blue Eagles who have been dislodged to second position.
Coach Mike Kumanga of Lions was delighted with the win and occupying the summit spot of the league.
“We will make sure that we maintain the top spot,” said Kumanga.
Blue Eagles has been leading the log standings since the beginning of the season.
Red Lions has also been in top form having played 10 games now with only a single loss.
