Listen: Martse jumps on Mike Akitivi’s rhumba song
Rapper Martse continues to exhibit his versatility on beats as he gets comfortable on Mike Akitivi’s new rhumba song “Ndapata”.
The track, co-produced by BFB and Gabriel, is a love song in which the “Mwano” rapper and “Christina” singer celebrate new found love.
As the beat starts, Martse jumps on the first verse with his “too ghetto too gutter” signature before he spits some vernacular 16 bars.
“That’s what you do when you continue discovering yourself as an artist. That’s how it’s supposed to be, I don’t like being in a box [that’s why you can hear me on a rhumba beat],” commented Martse when asked to explain his decision to jump on a rhumba beat.
