The Living Waters International Church in Green-corner, Blantyre on Friday last week presented an award of recognition to former Minister of Information, Moses Kunkuyu at a luncheon held at Royals Hotel.

According to the church pastors, the award is in recognition of the continued association and support Kunkuyu renders to the church.

Pastor Emmanuel Chodzeka said as a church they decided to honour Kunkuyu after noting that he is one of the many Christians who are not members of the church but he frequently visits the church and takes part in activities including church projects.

Kunkuyu is an active Presbyterian member of Manase CCAP congregation.

“Honorable Kunkuyu has been instrumental to the work of God in this church, apart from being an evangelist himself, he has helped with his resources to living waters church for a long time,” said Pastor Chodzeka.

Kunkuyu recently donated a full set of PA system to the church in its preparation for relocation to its newly constructed church building in Bizmark village in Green-corner.

Commenting on the donation, the treasurer of the church Kelvin Kunyumbu commended the pastor of the church for his zeal in serving God and creating relationships with people of other denominations.

“I personally know Moses Kunkuyu for his love for live gospel music and the promotion of the same. At first he donated a piece of music equipment to our church in Bolton UK and we have heard of him doing the same to many other churches and we thank God that this time it was our turn. Singing unto God will be more lively now,” said Kunyumbu.

The former minister  has been sponsoring the Shouts of Praise Gospel Music Competition which he hinted will be back next year.

Kunkuyu, in his comment, thanked the church and its leadership for the recognition.

“I am a Presbyterian though I associate with many churches and as such I never expected Living Waters to honour me in such a way. It must be a time of favor as last week, Catholic youth in the same city of Blantyre paid me a courtesy call. I am all humbled and I pray that God blesses them,” said Kunkuyu.
