Mabedi appointed caretaker head coach of South Africa’s Swallows
Ex-Malawi captian, Patrick Mabedi has been handed the mantle of head coach at Moroka Swallows on temporally basis after the team has sacked its manager.
Mabedi has been elevated from his assistant coach position to become a caretaker for Swallow’s Wednesday’s match against his former club Kaizer Chiefs.
According to South African online soccer magazine Kick Off, Mabedi will act as a caretaker
until the club appoint a permanent coach after the Fifa international week.
Swallows parted ways with head coach Fani Madida on mutual agreement.
The club’s Chief Executive Officer, Leon Prins Madida’s replacement will be appointed next month.
“Look, we sat down and had a meeting with Fani Madida and had an amicable mutual decision to part ways. He is a good coach and a great guy but unfortunately luck was not going his way,” Prins said.
Prins said the club’s plans going forward is to put Patrick Mabedi assisted by other members of the technical team especially in charge of the match against Kaizer Chiefs.
”We will then bring in someone new after the Fifa international week.”
The Fifa break runs from March 23 to 31.

Allow me 2 say sumthing, This is a huge responsibility 4 Patrick and even if he may win a game or two, he cant get the job cos he has bn told already that a new coach is cuming after FIFA calendar end of April cos Patrick has no coaching experience and my advise 2 Patrick is cum end of the season go 4 full tym coaching lessons and get a licence then u stand a better chance of getting a job.
