Macra boss Nsaliwa replaced with Kumbatira

President Peter Mutharika has  replaced Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra) Director General Charles Nsaliwa with Andrew Kumbatira, former Malawi Post Master General, Nyasa Times has learnt.

Mutharika has appointed Godfrey Itaye as the new post master general ti replace Kumbatira.

Nsaliwa whose three-year contract was renewed in 2012 has been  to Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture as principal secretary .

Macra board chairperson Martha Kwataine confirmed.

Kumbatira has since said he is “ greatly honoured and feel deeply humbled”  for the appointment.

Nsaliwa has been accused of some vices at Macra like the role he played in the purchase of a spy machine at a whooping US$6.8 million, buying of his official car, a Toyota Prado worth K10 million at a heavily discounted price of K 1 million and also giving of a contract to his daughter and close friend without following proper procedures.
