The tournament was held at Mlambe Golf Club at the prestigious Club Makokola, about 2km from Nkopola Lodge venue of the Lake of Stars.

Speaking during the prize presentation ceremony to the winners TNM Head of Corporate Services Stella Hara said her company decided to co-sponsor the golf tournament to live up to its motto of always being with their customers.

“As you know our motto is Always with You and for this weekend all roads led to Mangochi to Lake of Stars as such we felt we should interact with our customers through golf while they are here relaxing with their families,” said Hara whose company was the official Lake of Stars Festival mobile partner.

Taran Makhecha emerged winner of the maiden Lake of Stars golf tournament after scoring 38 points. He received a trophy and a Z10 Blackberry.

In the women category, renowned golfer Roza Mbilizi emerged victor after scoring 35 points. She too went away with a trophy and a Z10 Blackberry.

“It has been a while since we played at Mlambe golf course and we are very thankful to the sponsors, TNM and Multichoice Malawi for spoiling us here at the lake. It was a nice experience,” said Mbilizi after receiving her prize.

TNM as the mobile partner of Lake of Stars pumped in about K6.7 million in a festival which attracted fun lovers from across the globe.
