Malaiw U-20 lose to South Africa 0-4 in Zone VI Games

Malawi national soccer team Under-20 kicked-off this year’s Zone Six Games in Lusaka, Zambia on a bumpy note following their 4-0 defeat in the hands of South Africa.

The game was played on Friday, December 7, 2012.

The Junior Flames, who were beaming with confidence before their departure were trailing 2-0 in the first half before being baptised with the other two goals in the second half.

The Junior Flames team Manager Charles Manda said all was not lost despite their first lose, as they have other games against the host Zambia and Botswana.

“People should not count us out because we still have games and anything can happen, “said Manda, who remained confident of qualification.

Malawi’s Junior Flames: Bad start

In another encounter, Zambia beat Botswana 3-0.

The Junior Flames squad is comprised of players like Dalitso Makunganya, Lovemore Jere, Clifford Bololo, Boston Katsonga, Ernest Tambe and Albert Mpinganjira Jnr.
