Management of First Merchant Bank (FMB) in Malawi has written its regional manager for the southern region Henry Kamowa to explain his side of the story over allegations of sexual immorality with his female junior staff member at the same bank which has gone viral on social media and also on online publications.
Social media have for the past three days been awash with leaked Facebook conversation between Kamowa, who uses the name ‘Mesho’ and the bank’s employee Ellen. In the messages the two discussed everything befitting lovers in explicit details.
The conversation is reportedly been leaked by another boyfriend of Ellen who was not happy having discovered that he was been double-crossed with a married man.
The bank’s management feels the scandal has put the bank into disrepute and that it has the potential of damaging the bank’s brand if left unattended to.
“As I am talking to you now the FMB Managing Director Dheeraj Dikshit has written Kamowa a letter to explain himself on the allegations of sexual immorality,” says the bank official.
Several bank managers have previously been fired for indulging in sexual immorality.
For example some few years ago, the Reserve Bank of Malawi fired its former General Manager at Malswitch Grey Nkungula immediately after it was discovered that he was having sex in the office with a certain married woman.
The videos of Nkungula and his woman partner also went viral on the social media.
