Malawi beat Ethiopia in Africa Cup qualifiers

A brace from  Atusaye Nyondo and another goal from Frank Banda ensured Malawi a 3-2 victory  against Ethiopia and collect three points  in Group B of African Nations Cup qualifying on Wednesday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.Tussling for the ball

Nyondo, who limped off from the field of play in the second half scored in each half with the first registered  after 18 minutes.

Ethiopia midfielder Getaneh Kebede, equalised on the stroke of halftime.

Frank Banda restored Malawi’s advantage with a 62nd minute goal before Nyondo added the third four minutes later.

Then, right at the death in referee’s optional time after the 90, Ethiopia striker Yussuf Saleh made it 3-2 but the damage was already done.

However, Malawi spectators, who came not in an impressive crowd were disappointed with goalkeeper Mc Donald Harawa for conceding two silly goals .

Overall, Malawi had the upper hand in a hard-fought game and fully deserved their victory.
