Silver Strikers players smiled all the way to the bank on Wednesday (March 14, 2013) following the clubs lion share on their K9 million TNM Super League prize money for being crowned 2012-2013 Champions.
The Bankers chairman Dr Mafuta Mwale said per their contract with the players they are supposed to receive 50 per cent of the prize money which they did on Tuesday night.

Mwale said in this case from the K9 million winning prize money, the players were given K4.5 million to share among themselves.

On how they are going to share, Mwale emphasized that it will depend on a number of games a player was featured and his contribution.

He gave an example of their goalkeeper, Charles Swini who joined the club at the middle of the season that he contributed a lot to their succesful and that basing on a number of games which he was featured will be unfair.

According to Nyasa Times investigations, the highest paid player will carter away with a whooping of K200,000.

Mwale also said it is the Area-47’s out-fit wish to give their players a huge chunk as one way of motivating them.

The club’s successful chairman said the club will organize a party for its supporters to interact with players starting with Saturday in Mzuzu after the Bankers versus Big Bullets game.

The two giants will meet during the opening ceremony of the Presidential Cup at Mzuzu stadium.

Mwale said during a party which will be organized at their base in area 47 they will spoil their players with different gifts basing on who will be chosen the best player for the just ended soccer season and other categories.
