Malawi climbs one step in Fifa ranking

Malawi National Soccer Team, the Flames, has climbed a single step up in both the World and African ranks according to Fifa’s latest rankings released on Thursday March 13th, 2014. The latest rankings have placed the Flames on 114 position in the world and 32 in Africa.

Surprisingly Zimbabwe’s Warriors dropped by two steps from 100 in the world to 102 and they are on position 28 in Africa.

Zambia have move a step up to be 16th in Africa and 74thin the world, Mozambique have gained risen three places to be 33 in Africa just behind the Flames and 115 in the world.

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana have maintained their positions 12th in Africa and 64th in the world just like Burkina Faso have not moved having maintained the 11thposition in Africa and 62nd in the world.

Egypt are the second biggest risers in Africa after Comoros having moved 12 places to perch on position 3 in Caf but are on position 26 in the world.

Spain are still the top most ranked team in the world, Germany second, Argentina third, Portugal fourth, Colombia fifth, Uruguay sixth,Switzerland seventh,Italy eighth World Cup hosts Brazil ninth and Belgium 10th.

FIFA will release the next update on April 10.
