Malawi coach RVG gets his ride from HTD K10mil discount
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has bought Malawi’s Flames Coach, Ronny van Geneugden, a Kia Sorento CRDI motor vehicle at a subsidised price of K12 million from HTD Limited and has been officially handed to the tactician.
HTD valued the vehicle at K22 million duty-free as the company was using it for a demonstration but offered K10 million discount because if the partnership they have with the football governing body.
“We are really proud to be associated with FAM and when they approached us through their commercial and sales director [Limbani Matola] for assistance, we were excited and the K10 million difference is our contribution towards the cause,” said HTD sales manager Sandra Goto.
Goto said HTD Limited are “hopeful” that the vehicle will help the coach in turning the Flames into “one of the best teams.”
FAM general secretary Alfred Gunda expressed gratitude to the motor vehicle dealer, saying they approached HTD and appreciate “the seed” that they have “sown towards football development.”
The Belgian tactician said he was excited to get a vehicle that will help him travel nationwide to watch games and identify talent.
