The TNM sponsored tournament attracted 10 senior men’s’ teams and six ladies Genesan said TNM support has helped in the development of cricket in the country.

“TNM is committed to taking the game of Cricket in Malawi to a whole new level and we believe this is achievable if we harness young cricket talent through tailored cricket initiatives such as those run by the Cricket Academy and through TNM’s sponsorship the standards and quality of playing has improved,” Genesan said.

He said the three years of TNM sponsorship has improved the standards of the sport in Malawi.

“TNM has been very instrumental, in this three years that TNM has been helping us, numbers of boy and girls playing crickets have increased, we have gone on international tours and above all the standards and quality of cricket is improving,” he said.

The director added that through TNM sponsorship the academy has managed to give scholarships to 10 most dedicated and committed students.

“ TNM has given crickets a better platform to be able to market this sport in Malawi without them we wouldn’t able to reach this stage, thanks to TNM today we have over 2000 girls and boys playing cricket in Malawi.”

That’s shallow thinking, Zambulo!! You mean they shouldnt represent Malawi because they are of Indian origin? Wake up!! Zinthu zinasintha masiku ano!! If they can put Malawi on the map for good reasons then they are free to do so and they should be encouraged along those lines.
