Malawi dancing competition ‘U got dance move’ return
Malawi’s strictly dancing competition, U Got Dance Moves, returns this year after a four-year break, according to organisers Prime Time Media and Diverse Entertainment.
The organisers plan to launch a ‘Season One’ of the competition.
“We were reworking on the whole concept so it can meet the needs of the present corporate world and also fit in well with the needs of the targeted group (young people),” said Prime Time Media CEO Edward Kankhomba.
The first show hosted at French Cultural Centre (now Blantyre Cultural Centre) was a pilot phase, organisers explained.
It was won by The Elements Dance Crew from Chitawira, Blantyre.
Code Sangala, Malawi’s former representative at the Big Brother Africa show, who owns Diverse Entertainment, said the new edition will have a different formatting.
Sangala, who is also a renowned Malawian Afro musician, said they will start with township level and promised increased prizes.
