Media reports from South Africa indicate that Flames defender Limbikani Mzava is on the brink of signing for Orlando Pirates from Mpumalanga Black Aces.

According to the Sowetan Newspaper from South Africa, the 22-year old no nonsense defender, who joined Aces last July will not be part of the club any longer as he is heading to Pirates.

However, Orlando Pirates administrator Floyd Mbele did not confirm the news and was quoted in the media as saying, “I haven’t picked up anything from this side.”

Aces boss John Comitis let slip that the 22-year-old would be joining the Buccaneers at the end of the season.

“He is going to Pirates,” Comitis told the newspaper when asked about the player’s future.

Although none have been confirmed, Pirates have reportedly already signed Baroka FC striker Thabiso Kutumela, Mahlatse Makudubela from Platinum Stars and Chippa United defender, James Okwuosa.

If Mzava joins Pirates, he will follow into the footsteps of Joseph Kamwendo and Chiukepo Msowoya, who once played for the Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, there are still a number of Malawian players plying their trade in the rainbow nation like Atusaye Nyondo, Esau Kanyenda, Harry Nyirenda, Mecium Mhone, Robin Ngalande, Gabadihno Mhango and Robert Ng’ambi.

If this is true Mzava need to be careful as Orlando Pirates are known for destroying players from Malawi. Ask Chiukepo on this he has some info to tell you.
