Gospel music artist Lloyd Phiri is coming back after three years of absence and is expected to launch Sachedwa  Safulumira Compact Disc (CD).

The official launch of the latest album is slated for June 30 at Shaeffer Marquee in Lilongwe.

Phiri last released Kuthekeka Kwanga CD and DVD in 2008.

“Gospel Music is my calling and I cannot abandon it. In God I am progressing,” he said.

Phiri said he has decided to launch his CD in Lilongwe because Blantyre was expensive saying the hall charges were K300 000 (about $750) plus equipment it goes up to K450 000 (about $1 125) compared to Lilongwe which costs only K150 000 (about $375) while in Mzuzu it is K50 000 (about $125). He said after the launch in Mzuzu he would be going to Karonga.

The singer who is Calvary Family Church member said he is now “evangelising and what I do is after singing I give a short message and pray for those who surrender their lives for Christ.”

Some of the supporting artists in his June 30 launch in Lilongwe include The Great Angels, Prophets of Vision (POV), Peter Mlangeni, and Mirriam Kuseni among others.
