This and the greedy being shown by Members of Parliament where they get loans with interest subsidized by our taxes and they want an increased allocation to Parliament which shall translate into more allowances for themselves. With such moral bankruptcy why should I waste my time to vote in 2019 to put in positions whose motive is to enrich themselves? We Malawians still remain dead people as described by HE Kenneth Kaunda in the 70’s

Mr Gondwe is being economical with the truth. Bingu’s convoy was made up of Hummers now there are Toyota landcruisers no Hummers

Age of a car does not mater. What maters is the mileage. How any KMs have these cars clocked in 12 years?

I drive a 10 year old (2005) VW Citi Golf (180,000kms on the clock) and 11 year old (2004) Jeep Cherokee (204,000kms on the clock). And they do not break because I look after them – service! service! service. Maybe the government should take a leaf from this and buy a VW Polo for the president as it will always go go go! Even lighter on fuel and maintenance. Better still maybe a Totota Aygo would be a better fit! ki ki ki

So you mean all the MPs believed what Gondwe said? Muntharika VX is not 2004 model, what do you mean when you said the convoy is 12 years old? so you mean ministers and PSs are driving modern vehicles than the president? i dont believe you Sir, komanso a well serviced vehicle cannot easily breakdown panseu, in addition, there are two or three vehicle that can be used by the president on the convoy, he can only switch in the unlikely event you want us to imagine happening.

Insane, insensitive, very stupid government. How does one justify luxury over need. Cost of living is just too high, deny civil servants a hike and tell starving Malawians to eat ziwala to survive the situation, These are people who put you into Office and you are supposed to serve them. Putting your foot down and making such hard suggestion, then you want to allocate resources for new motorcade. Hearless, stupid, uchitsiru, usatana, unyolivwa no sone cha. imwe muli vindere nadi

O…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….O ONCE UPON A TIME The leaders we have now; are disgustingly strange . . . . . . Couldn’t Good-All buy 2 or 3 new vehicles for the Head of State?, as we are made to believe that these are hard times? . . . And is Gondwe and cohort really convinced that the hall is needed? Now? …………………………………………………………………………… These old wineskins are clearly out of touch with reality . . . . . . coz any leader (and friends in crime), even if using just 0.10% of their brain; would realise and accept that these are hard times… Read more »

This is total madness. By the way paja akuti ife tizidya mbewa ndi ziwala and ma civil servants do not demand salary increase, iwo ndalama akugulira ma new motocade. Exactly why Malawi as a nation will go nowhere. The leaders have priorities upside down. Even as everything is collapsing, they do not mind at all. Shame on our leaders!

It is abnormal and lack of sense of probity at this brutal economic slump the Head of state would fatuously conspire to purchase new convoy for himself and his spouse.Any sensible human being under Malawia’s cut-throat economic trend, would not have dared to undertake such immoral undertaking. This is political and economic genocide that the Head of State must be impeached for misusing badly needed finances to buy food, medicines, creat jobs and myriad of other necessities.Peter, stop that. You have gone too far,but your time will come sooner than later.
