Malawi netball giants Tigresses and Diamonds in crucial match
OG Issa Southern Region Netball League title contenders Complex Tigresses face serious test in their quest to challenge the title when they line up against Diamonds at the netball cathedral, Blantyre Youth Centre on Sunday.
Tigresses are being chased by Diamonds as the two Blantyre giants are separated with a few points.
Coach, Peace Kaluwa feels she has the formula to clip Diamonds and has vowed to collect maximum points come Sunday.
“We have to beat Diamonds if our ambition to be crowned champions is to be alive. But l can assure all our supporters that we will throw
everything into the game so that at the end ‘tikamwe tea wamkaka‘,” said Kaluwa.
Kaluwa is beaming with confidence knowing she has a star studded squad which comprises slippery goal shooter, Sindi ‘Sniper’ Simutowe fresh from Fast Five tournament in New Zealand, Beatrice Mpinganjira, Grace Mhango and Lauren Ngwira.
In the other camp, Diamonds coach , Griffin Saenda said they are ready to shine bright against the Kanjedza township based girls.
“The morale in our camp is high ahead of this crunch encounter. By any means, we have to beat Tigresses if we want to win the title even though people have already ruled us out,” he said.
Of late, Diamonds have been finding the going tough in the OG Issa having lost to Tigresses in the first round.
Saenda will be banking all his hopes on Bridget Kumwenda, Jessica Mazengera, Towera Vinkhumbo and Caroline Ngwira.
