Malawi next President will be ‘born-again Christian’ – Apostle Phiri
Stephano Phiri, leader of Jesus Is Coming Soon Ministry, says God has spoken to him about the change of Malawi’s leadership, saying a born-again Christian will take over the reign of the country “soon”.
The Blantyre-based minister, who is also an Apostle at Miracle Pentecostal Church, claims he has been “speaking to God” who revealed to him about the leadership change.
“God is taking Malawi Government into born-again Christian hands,” he told journalists at his church in the Township of Chilobwe.
He, however, could not disclose how soon Malawi will experience the change.
The Apostle also did not mention who the new leader would be, but he only said the incumbent President’s successor is someone who is not known and has no political background.
“God has shown me the people who will take over but asked me not to reveal their identity…but it will happen soon, not through elections, it will be automatic.
“When it is done, the country will be [the] centre for connection around the globe. Malawi will help many nations in Africa to Jesus,” said Phiri.
He added: “Malawi will bring Africa together to Jesus and Africa shall be healed and restored because of connection power. Malawi and Africa shall be rich. God wants Africa to stop depending on donors because we are rich in resources.”
According to the Apostle, it was God who gave the former Head of State, late Bingu wa Mutharika “wisdom” to change the flag from half rising sun to full rising sun.
“The sun meant that Malawi would soon come to be ruled by born-again Christian [and] God will make Malawi a shining star for all nations in Africa.”
He went on to explain that last year, God had spoken to him to have an audience with the former President to unite government and the people of Malawi.
“God wanted him [Mutharika] to humble himself before the Almighty. I wrote him for a meeting but he never replied, unfortunately he died,” claimed the Apostle.
Phiri further said after writing President Joyce Banda last November, advising her not to legalise same sex marriages and abortion, the Head of State is yet to reply.
“We also advised her to appoint 10 born-again Christians in her cabinet, which she never did and God is angry. That’s why we have hunger, floods and children demonstrating against the government,” he claimed.
Jesus Is Coming Soon has meanwhile organised prayers throughout the country to pray for the nation “to bring back the light that was lost on 31 December”.
The ministry will start on 1st June and run through to 24th June, starting at Robins Park in Blantyre. Other areas will be Zomba, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Nkhota-Kota.
