Malawi Parliament meets from October 21: Cabinet to be ready by then
The National Assembly will meet from Monday next week (October 21) and debate several issues.
The Office of the Speaker of Parliament made the announcement about they.meeting on Monday and said ministers and deputy ministers will be communicated to accordingly once President Joyce Banda appoints a new cabinet.
The National Assembly meeting comes after President Banda asked for an immediate meeting to discuss pertinent issues and one of them is the assets declaration bill which the dissolved cabinet passed last week.
The legislative body is also expected to discuss the Capital Hill ‘cash-gate’ scandal which has already seen civil servants getting arrested for looting millions of Kwacha from government coffers.
Speaker Henry Chimunthu Banda called on all the parliamentarians to avail themselves on Monday at 14.00 hours.
