Malawi Pastors Fraternal pray for JB

Members of the Pastors Fraternal on Tuesday held prayer session for President Joyce Banda at top-hill Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.

Chairperson of the Pastors Fraternal, Jimmy Chimphinda, said his group met the President to assure her that they pray for her and they are with her in all her plans for national development.

“For her plans to be successful there is need for divine power and we went to pray for  the President and seek God’s blessings,” said Chimphinda.

President Banda is a religious and an active member of CCAP church and women’s guild. She also associates with Pentecostals.

In her  address to the pastors, President Banda commended them for their prayers, saying  there is need for Malawi to develop a national plan to be adopted by any president regardless of political affiliation.

Banda conceded that that current trend where incoming presidents abandon projects initiated by their predecessors, was not good for national development.

But  President Banda accused her predecessor   late Bingu wa Mutharika of plundering the economy, saying the K62 billion estate which has recently been exposed was obscene self- enrichment.
