Malawi’s top women football star in Europe Tabitha Chawinga is set for another milestone this season in Swedish top league.
Chawinga is currently the second top goal scorer with five goals for her club Kvarnsveden just four shy of the leading scorer.
But the Malawian has only played three games in the league so far which gives her a chance to fight for the honours.
She scored the only goal of the game to help her team beat QBIK 1-0 over the weekend.
But the soft-spoken Malawi who has always attributed her success to God, said it was tough game.
“It was a tough game but I fought to score the winning goal. If I continue working hard, I will overtake the leading scorer,” Chawinga said.
The victory has pushed Kvarnvedens to fifth position on the log table with seven points from five games.
DD Sunshine Director David Dube, who groomed the player and brokered the deal, was all smiles for the Malawian star player.
“She has special skills and I am confident that she will be the top goal scorer at the end of the season just as it was the case last season while playing in the third tier.
Chawinga finished top goal scorer with 38 goals despite that he joined the team mid season.
The national team prolific striker has raised the bar high by declaring to score 40 goals, two better that while playing for third Division team Krokom/Dvarsatt IF.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
