Malawi Police arrest hardcore criminals: Recovers computers, phones and gun 

Malawi Police  in the commercial capital Blantyre have managed to arrest suspected criminals who have been terrorizing ginnery corner including College of Medicine where, last week, FMB Bank auto-teller machine was ransacked.

The station’s Public Relations officer Elizabeth Divala said they have arrested seven people in Blantyre and Lilongwe and managed to recover a pistol rifle and 98 live ammunition.

Divala said the seven will be charged of breaking into a building and committing a felony therein offence.

“This is in relation to an offence occurred at college of medicine some weeks ago whereby criminals broke into and went away with various items worth millions of kwacha,” Divala explained.

“Police visited the scene and inquires were carried out and managed to arrest seven in Blantyre and Lilongwe names withheld to pave way further investigations”.

She said the law-enforcers have managed to recover five sets of HP computers, mixer, one Dell monitor, computer cables, two computer batteries, five laptop computers, four iPad phones, fourteen assorted cell phones, five TNM dongles, lcd screen, four computer chargers and two hard drives external.

Divala said the criminals stole the items from College of Medicine, Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) Eye Unit and other companies within ginnery corner. The criminals, Divala added that were the ones who ransacked the FMB auto-teller machine.

Thanks to our police officers for arresting these hardcore criminals. To some of us the sweet news is when we hear you have killed these beasts and not just arresting them. All the same thumbs up for the police officers.

There was Gombwa and Mvula’s children that are labeled “hardcore thieves ” we didn’t hear how the story ended. I bet it will be the same with this one…

After few days you will hear that these criminals are on bail and you will find them walking tall in the street. Our justice system is very wanting.
