Malawi police mount a search for missing girl: Oliva Ching’amba

Police in Malawi’s southern district of Balaka is hunting for a 15 year old girl Oliva Ching’amba who went missing on 9th March, 2013.

In a statement issued Thursday made available to Nyasa Times, Balaka police spokesman Sub-inspector Joseph Sauka said the girl was in Form 1 at St Louis Community Day Secondary School in Balaka district.

“She is short and slim, light in complexion and speaks fluent Chichewa. On the day of her missing, Oliva wore a grey skirt with black spots, white blouse with a string on the chest and a grey sweater”.

Sauka says Oliva comes from Taibu village, Traditional Authority Chikowi in Zomba district but was staying with her brother at Majiga location in Balaka district.

“Meanwhile, Police is appealing to the general public to report to Balaka Police or their nearest Police formation if they know her where about or come across her”police--
