Malawi President appoints four new High Court Judges

Malawi President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed four new High Court Judges.

According to a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC), the judges are Joseph Chigona, Ruth Chinangwa, George Bakuwa and Dorothy De Gabrielle.

The statement signed by Chief Secretary  at the OPC George Mkondiwa, the appointment is with immediate effect.

It further indicates that the Presiden has made the appointment using powers conferred upon him by Section 111 Sub Section
(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi.

Mutharika is currently in the United States of America where he has extended his stay carrying out some official duties after attending a United Nations General Assembly over three weeks ago.

He is expected to return home this coming Sunday through Kamuzu International Airpoet at exactly 1:00pm according to Presidential Spokesperson Mgeme Kalirani.

This sounds suspicious. Who’s making these appointments and for what reason. Isn’t this confirming the rumours flying around about big man being either dead or ill? Are these appointments not lining up mhlakhos easy take over?

Have you seen his signature on the appointments? Don’t you think it’s suspicious that the appointments have been announced while he is in “disappearance”? Don’t you think it’s an attempt to make it look like the president is alive and well when he isn’t?
