Chinunda disclosed this in a telephone interview with Nyasa Times on Friday.

This follows non-reaction to the corporate world and the Malawi government through the Malawi National Council of sports (MNCS) in assisting the club despite several efforts by NAM.

“We haven’t yet raised the remaining sum of K18 Million but I can assure you that the team will fly to Melborne come Monday 24th October,2016” said Chinunda.

Chinunda confirmed that her association already received air tickets for the travelling squad from the organizers.

“We have the tickets ready and nothing will stop us from departing. But still more we wish we had all the required money so that we give out some allowances to our players as part of motivating them” Chinunda said.

The 2016 Fast5 World Netball Championship will be played at Hisense Arena on 28th and 29th October, 2016.

Only few companies namely, Old mutual, Airtel Money and Unicaf University have come forward to assist the Queens to the tune of about K18 million.

Team selection

Meanwhile, Queens Head Coach Griffin Saenda has confessed that he is having a headache and is in dillema to come up with the final travelling squad.

He currently have 21 players in camp and only ten are supposed to travel to Australia.

According to earlier communication, the final selection was expected Friday but was yet to be released as we went on-line.
