Malawi schoolgirl ‘rises from the dead’

A former form two student of Namulenga Community Day Secondary School in Mulanje who died in 1997 found herself wondering about at Namulenga in Mulanje on Wednesday.

Girl who is alleged to have risen from the dead.

Mulanje Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Gresham Ngwira confirmed the development in an interview on Thursday saying the girl was indeed seen following a lady at Namulenga who upon asking her who she was said she would only narrate her story to the Police.

“But while there, she did not say anything instead she started behaving strangely forcing police officers to take her to a nearby health center.

“At the health center, she continued behaving strangely mentioning some names of people who when called said that she is their relative,” said Ngwira.

According to Ngwira, the girl was referred to Mulanje District Hospital where she is receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, hospital officials are regarding her as a mental health patient and have since asked those saying to be her relatives to return home until doctors observe and treat her.

Ngwira said when she gets better; hospital officials and the police will continue their joint investigations until her true identity and relatives are identified.

For those doubting, please go to Ntcheu and visit Kasale vge. You will see both the girl and the tomb where she was buried. The truth is, it is witchcraft. These other people do not die and what we feel we are burrying is not the person. God is exposing the witches. This girl says she was working in the fields and she did not die.
