Congratulations Thom and your NT. But I think your award is attributed to our unsensured comments and your editorial policy to publish every comment made on your topics. I think if you can carry on like that, Nyasa Times will remain the best newspaper in the whole world.

This is the only place we can challenge anyone either in opposition or government, a spy agent like Mzanga Dausi or the abysmal customer service at National Bank without fear.

Once again congratulations Nyasa Times!

My comment has been filtered off!

BEFFTA awards is an initiative of a few Malawians and their proxy spouses and girlfriends from West Africa. No wonder the trash that is Nyasatimes can be said to be the best African publication. Tay Grin won the best African musician last year…hahahaha come on folks, which Africa!

Congratulations to the Nyasa times for putting Malawi in the news for the right reasons. Keep up the great work.

You deserve it.

Indeed when you fight the famous, you become famous as well. Now the world can notice nyasatimes simply because of fighting the famous mighty DPP. By the way is Wambali still of fame these days than Lawi? Which songs is he voted for? The same nkhujipeleka we used to listen to when we were young?

Spot on N0.1 You are absolutely correct that the NT needs to improve its written English. It also must desist from posting pictures of a distressing and harrowing nature that may cause distress to relatives of the victims of violent deaths. Incidentally, we heed advice, we don’t heed ‘to’ advice (your final sentence). The correct use of prepositions is perhaps one of the hardest things to master in the English language.

I agree with you ‘Gas Machine Head’. Nyasa Times needs to improve on these

a) Proof reading
b) Standard of columnists – some columns fall below par.
c) Bias – too much mendaciousness in their reporting (especially politics and national issues). Too much deceit, bias, hypocrisy and sensationalisation of news.
d) be sensitive to other people – unnecessary pictures of dead people, victims
e) sexism – tendency to show naked women and bare breasts (NOT GOOD for a serious newspaper.
f) Be patriotic – Love Malawi
