The Flames will face Swaziland on 5th September, 2015 away in Mbabane.

The team which is currently in training camp at the Chiwembe Technical Centre in the Commercial City of Blantyre will depart for South Africa on 30th August, 2015.

“They will camp in South Africa from 30th August to 4th September before going to Swaziland,” said FAM General Secretary Suzgo Nyirenda.

According to Nyirenda, the move will help the new technical panel of Ernest Mtawali and his Assistant Nsazurwimo Ramadhan to monitor the combinations of local players as they will be training together with foreign based players.

He further hinted that the coach is putting trust in locally based players and revealed the majority of players travelling to Swaziland will be local players.

Mtawali is expected to release a 21 man squad this coming Friday 28th August,2015.

Misplacement of resources. Where did the Queens camp?

The flames may even go and camp in Brazil but I doubt if the results will be any better.

    Shame on mother Malawi!

Departing of 30th August but the game is on 5th Sept? Allowances allowances and allowances!!! 6 days in expensive South Africa just to prepare for a mere Swaziland? What if it were Nigeria? No no no let us priotise our meagre resources. Zimbabwe though very poor but somehow economically better off than us knew they couldnt afford to fly and spend 3 night allowances against a lowly ranked team in the name of Malawi, arrived by bus a day before the match and won it and left the next morning.

This is just another waste of the very scarce resources. Why not pull out from all tournaments for some time and develop a competitive team.

That is a good move by FAM. Hopefully, the teams in South Africa will release Malawian players so that the coach has ample time to assess them.

  19. Mzimba Solola says:

Waste of tax payers money, Governemt should consider pumping more funds to the Queens at least they make us proud, its high tiME these so called Flames have disappointed us. I don’t see any positive results.

  20. ZZ Junior says:

Suddenly FAM has money to pay for flames camping expenses in Jozi. Suddenly FAM has funds to send Tigana Mavuto Lungu for a coaching course in Germany. Zachitumbuka basi. And again what is the team Manager doing at the training ground. Has he become the coach as well?

  21. Oliver Twist says:

Wishing all the best of luck to the Flames as they come down to camp in style b4 meeting the Swazi team. By the way, let us not undermine them as they have proved to be a good side of late. I reckon that with Mtawali, all goes well because he understands the style of play deployed by these Swazi guys.
