Malawi strip tease club, escort agency on cards in Lilongwe

A Lilongwe-based business guru is throwing in millions of kwacha in an odd business never heard of in Malawi  history, strip tease club and escort agency thanks to the current government’s stance on human rights and freedom.

The mogul (name withheld) says he has been encouraged by the recent announcement by Minister of Justice and Attorney General Ralph Kasambara that any law criminalising one’s sexual orientation has been suspended.

“I read that even sex workers have formed a movement or alliance, our business is to take those with qualities out of the real sexual business of offering sex by sleeping with men or women to that of strip tease where there is no sexual contact but it is high paying,” said the business magnet.

Tax

He said Malawi government will also win through taxes since all workers will be obliged to pay taxes since their work will be high earning.

Stripper: Job opportunities in Lilongwe

“The strippers could make between K200,000 to K350,000 a month and that is taxable, so government through the Malawi Revenue Authority will collect taxes and contribute to building of schools, hospitals and better roads,” he says.

Over K40 million has been put on cards for the first two rival strip clubs called “The Gem” whose license is yet to be applied for to the government and local councils.

“We have identified over 40 girls in Lilongwe and Blantyre; we feel we could start off by being guest strippers in up-market night clubs and sports bars.

“We cannot at this time name which clubs we have spoken with until the applications go through,” said Louise Murandu, a Zimbabwean Consultant and a Stripper herself.

She says the entry fees will range from K10, 000 to K40, 000 depending on the positioning of the patrons with those close to the pole dancers paying the highest rates.

“This is smart and clean business, our strippers and pole dancers would also be used to spread the word against multiple sexual encounters to fight against HIV/Aids and encourage men to visit the strip clubs with the wives. It’s for fun and not brothels,” said Murandu.
