Malawi teams register wins in second matches at Zone Six

Malawi Under-20 netball and football teams produced stunning performances in the ongoing Zone Six Games in Lusaka as they registered their victories against their opponent.

In netball, after drawing their first game with South Africa, Malawi Junior Queens went on rampage on Sunday following their 97-12 victory to Lesotho.

As usual, the Junior Queens captain Lauren Ngwira led her troops in demolishing Lesotho.

Notable names who were responsible in pruning Lesotho were MTL Queens trio of Thandiwe Galeta, Memory Mwazani and Pilirani Msukwa alongside Cathy Yikwanga.

The Junior Queens captain described their victory as a stepping stone in their quest to defend the title.

“This result will motivate us in our next game. There was a great improvement comparing with our first game, “said Ngwira.

As the Queens were busy drilling Lesotho on how netball should be displayed, the Junior Flames were also on the other side teaching Seychelles a lesson.

After losing their first game 4-0 to Amajimbos of South Africa, the Junior Flames went on to wallop Sychelles 5-0.

The Flames first goal came in the first half courtesy of Lovemore Jere while the rest of the goals were notched in the last 45 minutes.

Team Manager Charles Manda saluted his boys for responding well in their second encounter after losing their opening match.

The Junior Flames next game will be against Zambia in what looks like an uphill task.
