She also said the   trip to South Africa will be packed with training sessions, workshops, games, events, coaching and guidance from some of top Copa Coca-Cola® coaches.

Copa Coca-Cola, the world’s largest brand-supported grassroots football initiative, is hosting 67 teens from 7 countries for a five-day International Africa Camp to forge friendships and gain valuable skills both on and off the pitch.

The camp, which started on 7th September and expected to end on 12th September is taking place at the state of the art High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria.

Mbilizi said they hope the Copa Coca‑Cola SABU Camp will provide memories for a lifetime and inspire teens to further pursue their footballing passion for years to come.

“Unity messaging that crosses all cultural differences and football is the one language that brings them all together,” she said.

On day three of the training camp, the COPA Coca-Cola SABU Camp saw all 67 teenagers from Malawi ,Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland, as well as their coaches, taken on a tour of Africa’s largest football arena, the FNB Stadium.

The boys were given a full tour of the 94 000 seater stadium, often referred to locally as Soccer City, which played host to the first ever FIFA World Cup final hosted on African soil in 2010.

Mbilizi said the COPA Coca-Cola SABU Camp gave the 67 teenagers another unforgettable experience at the majestic FNB Stadium.

She said the Malawian future football stars together with their colleagues were excited to walk onto a pitch that has hosted a number of iconic matches, including Africa’s biggest football spectacle, the Soweto Derby, which features some of their role models and heroes, including Simphiwe Tshabalala and Andile Jali.

The boys experience a taste of what it must feel like for their football heroes when they are preparing to take to the pitch in one of the stadium’s state of the art change rooms.

This is the same change room that is used by South Africa’s biggest football club Kaizer Chiefs and was also used by former World Cup champions, Spain, during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

For its participants the camp will form the pinnacle of this year’s Copa Coca-Cola® tournament, which has seen more than 1.3 million teens compete in over 60 countries globally.

Now in its 27th year, Copa Coca-Cola unites football-loving teens in every continent around the world, promoting an active, healthy lifestyle and encouraging values that are the foundation of life and sportsmanship.

Teenagers from around Africa, aged between 13 and 16,were rewarded with an invitation to attend this year’s Copa Coca-Cola®SABU Camp, after being identified as stand-out players from each of their regions.

The SABU Camp gives young players the opportunity to pursue their football dreams, make new friends from different countries and together recognise the importance of playing different roles within a team.

Highlights of the Copa Coca-Cola® SABU camp will include opening and closing ceremonies, high intensity training sessions, an integrated knockout tournament and a tour of FIFA World Cup 2010™ final venue, FNB Soccer City.
